Abstract | Carol Bostrom describes how she used frogs as a starting point for learning to leap forward as curiosity spread beyond the classroom. She believed that this would take the children's engagement with learning a step further, arouse their curiosity and enable them to appreciate the need to be respectful and considerate of other living things. She also believed that it would help with behaviour and self-esteem of the students by studying real animals in the science class. She and the students found this was a great opportunity to widen their scientific enquiry and explore more of the non-statutory science. It brought them together as a class and she is sure the children will remember this scientific experience for a long time. (ERIC). |
