Abstract | While many studies have investigated environmental education programs, fewer have focused on the longer-term effects of these interventions. This study provides insight into the longer-term influences of an earth education summer camp in Nova Scotia, Canada. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview process with seven parents of participants 2-3 months after the program. Results indicate that the program may help to reinforce environmental knowledge and attitudes and encourage the adoption of environmentally responsible behaviors. Results also suggest that some children encouraged the adoption of environmentally responsible behaviors among their parents. Recommendations for future research are provided. (As Provided). |
