Abstract | Approaches to identify and support student social, emotional, and behavioral (SEB) needs are necessary to the provision of school-based prevention and intervention services. Limited information exists, however, regarding the current use of SEB practices such as screening in schools. The purpose of The National Exploration of Emotional/Behavioral Detection in School Screening (NEEDs[superscript 2]) project (https://needs2.education.uconn.edu), which is presented in this article, was to explore the status of approaches to identifying and supporting student SEB needs in schools nationwide. In this article, the authors share project findings related to the student support staff survey responses. The authors offer implications of these findings, with a focus on the role of school psychologists working to implement SEB approaches in their settings. (ERIC). |
