Abstract | Sport management research has evolved significantly despite its relatively short history as an academic discipline. Although the pace of scholarly progress has been impressive, the extent to which many research efforts have aided sport management in becoming a distinct academic discipline is, at times, questionable. A major challenge many scholars face is their confusion regarding the adoption of appropriate research and statistical methods. Consistent with the aims of "MPEES," this special issue sought contributions that critically examine and shed light on broad perspectives of sport management research protocols. Creating a special issue on critical methodological issues in sport management will help to highlight the significance of research protocol, provide in-depth analysis, adopt contemporary measurement techniques, identify good research examples, and ultimately enhance the rigor of scientific inquiries in sport management. Selected are five articles that address pressing statistical procedures and innovative methodological techniques that advance sport management research. (As Provided). |
