AbstractThis study investigated the Information Communication Technology's (ICT's) knowledge and attitude of preservice social studies teachers in Southwestern, Nigeria. Simple random sampling and purposive sampling were adopted for sample selection. One hundred and eighty six (186) National Certificate of Education (NCE) part two students were selected for the study. Two research questions were raised and answered in the study. The instruments used for the study are Information Communication Technology Knowledge Test (ICTKT) and Information Communication Technology Attitude Scale (ICTAC). The study revealed that preservice social studies teachers in South-west, Nigeria were poor in knowledge of ICT concepts. 95.7% of the pre-service social studies teachers scored below average in ICT knowledge test. The study also revealed that the pre-service social studies teachers had positive attitude to ICT issues. On the basis of the findings of this study, it is recommended that courses on ICT should be integrated into the NCE social studies syllabus. (As Provided).
