Abstract | The goal of the present investigation is to examine students' interest in online groupwork and the related factors in the social and cultural context of China. Using data from undergraduates from online study groups, we examined both individual- and group-level predictors for online groupwork interest. The findings indicated that online groupwork interest was positively associated with variables such as monitoring motivation, peer-oriented reasons, and previous online courses. Full-time students rated online groupwork as being more interesting. Among the group-level predictors, "learning-oriented reasons" were the only one that stood out as being statistically significant. The findings were discussed in the context of online literature, and future research is also suggested. (As Provided). |
