Abstract | This study presents the results of a questionnaire-based survey, conducted in primary and secondary public schools of Zakynthos Island during 2013, referring to environmental awareness as well as pupils' perceptions and attitudes on specific environmental issues. The main aim of the study was to determine the knowledge and awareness that local pupils about the Loggerhead sea turtle ("Caretta caretta") and bird species that are migrants and/or endemic in the National Marine Park of the island. The study area was selected because the percentage of pupils not attending compulsory education is one of the highest in Greece. (As Provided). |
