Abstract | Purpose: The aim of this study is to reveal the opinions of teachers in terms of the right to privacy at school, both in the class and individually, and the violation of this right. Research Methods: Data was collected using a qualitative interview method. 21 teachers from state schools and 15 from two private schools, in total 36 class teachers, in Aydin, who taught in the 2015-2016 academic year participated, and the data was analyzed via content analysis. Findings: The conclusion was reached that the private lives of the school, class, and teachers was violated. It was concluded that parents and teachers violated the school's private life, parents and students violated the class's private life, and teachers violated other teachers' private life at the state primary school. Parents were generally the ones who violated the private life of the school, class, and teachers, at private primary schools. Implications for Research and Practice: In accordance with these results, it would be beneficial to inform teachers, administrators, students, and parents about the right of privacy and about the scope and limits of the school's, class's and teacher's right to privacy. It would be useful to study, performed using a qualitative approach, in other educational institutions using quantitative research techniques. (As Provided). |
