Abstract | The essay forwards suggestions for developing a blended learning environment to insert genre-based language for specific purposes (LSP) subject matter into the undergraduate second language development curriculum. Specifically, the essay will highlight: (1) the development of an overarching narrative for structuring the LSP subject matter; (2) the formulation of performance objectives for the modules that will deliver the subject matter; (3) the development of a learning strategy for the modules, including their alignment with the existing program curriculum and the use of bimonthly face-to-face labs; and (4) the development and implementation of instructional materials, including the creation of study aids and open educational digital resources.
