Abstract | We have developed a circuit to demonstrate the phase relationships between resistive and reactive elements in series "RLC" circuits. We utilize a differential amplifier to allow the phases of the three elements and the current to be simultaneously displayed on an inexpensive four channel oscilloscope. We have included a novel circuit that provides a visual indication of the magnitude and direction of the voltage or current using LEDs. This allows the phase relationships to be demonstrated directly using the very intuitive measurement of the brightness of a light. (As Provided). |
