AbstractThis professional practice dissertation examined the application of Program Transition Points implemented in a K-12 Special Education Initial Licensure Program to ensure effective teacher preparation and successful program completion. Feedback from educational stakeholders, data results from program and internship evaluation outcomes, and the effectiveness of the Special Education Licensure Program Transition Points support findings for creating and utilizing a Program Transition Point analysis template. Recommendations for educator professional development and support after program completion are also incorporated within the study. The Executive Summary highlights and outlines various processes and plans created as a result of this study.
