AbstractEvidence shows that edutainment programs have been successfully employed to tackle health-related problems across the world and in Nigeria. This effort has not been extended to academic corruption in Nigeria. This study explored the effects of a corruption-themed edutainment drama on participants' knowledge, attitude, perceived self-efficacy, and behavioral intentions toward academic corruption. Three hundred and thirteen undergraduates from 33 campuses were each assigned to one of three conditions. Their knowledge, attitude, perceived self-efficacy, and behavioral intention scores were measured before and after treatments. Two-way mixed ANOVA and multiple regression analyses were used to analyze the data. Interaction results were not statistically significant. These unexpected results could be attributed to issues associated with measuring corruption and some unexpected Nigerian factors. Notwithstanding, results showed that attitude and perceived self-efficacy predicted behavioral intentions, confirming one of the study's hypotheses. Additionally, results showed some main effects of time and conditions. The study extends research and practice in the use of edutainment dramas to tackle corruption in Nigeria. Recommendations were made for future studies in this area, and for the next step in this study, which will include transmediality.
