Abstract | This study anchors on the linguistic theme of "Metalinguistic Awareness". The study analyzed this phenomenon as imbibed by high school students, and how it can be promoted by instructional tools, such as literary pieces that have gained predominant use in ESL and EFL teaching. The participants of this study are Grade 8 students and teachers handling the Grade 8 English course. A total of 210 students were randomly selected to partake in the research population, as well as their current English language teachers in Afro-Asian literature. The study was conducted within the school year 2018-2019 at Moncada National High School, located in Moncada, Tarlac (research locale). (As Provided). |
