Abstract | Mewborn and Stinson (2007) explored three tasks implemented in a preservice teacher education program, which supported awareness of beliefs and reflection on teaching practice. In this study, we investigated one of these tasks, a single student mathematical field experience, to study its impact on learning and to determine its effects over time. We studied elementary teachers starting at their preservice teaching experience into their second year of teaching and after their tenth year teaching. We found this experience fostered development of implementation of multiple questioning strategies during their preservice teaching experience, which grew during their career as educators and is consistent into their tenth year of teaching.
