AbstractThe District of Columbia's Youth Bullying Prevention Act of 2012 (YBPA; DC Law L19-167) requires the mayor to review the programs, activities, services, and policies established as a result of the Act; report the current status of bullying in the District of Columbia; and provide recommendations for the continued implementation of the Act. The Citywide Youth Bullying Prevention Program, created in June 2013, aims to reduce incidents of bullying across the District by emphasizing prevention and proper procedures for responding when incidents occur. The program works with youth-serving government agencies, District schools, and youth-serving government grantees to ensure that bullying prevention policies are adopted and implemented in accordance with best practices and research. The information in this report is meant to establish a baseline of what is known about the bullying situation in the District of Columbia from the data available.
