Abstract | Each edition of the IDRA Newsletter strives to provide many different perspectives on the issues in education topics discussed and to define its significance in the state and national dialogue. This issue focuses on college bound students and includes: (1) Since When are Good Grades and Diversity a Bad Thing? Recommendations and the Texas Top Ten Percent Plan (David Hinojosa); (2) Strategies for Creating College Readiness for Students of Color and Immigrant Students (DeShawn Preston and Amanda E. Assalone); (3) Relational Youth Violence--Protecting Muslim Youth in School (Sofia Bahena); and (4) Immigrant Students' Rights to Attend Public Schools: Alert for Registering Students for School.
