Abstract | Community colleges are facing record enrollments and declining state and local funding, and many leaders of these institutions see increasing private support as critical for colleges. In 2010 the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) conducted a national survey of community college foundations. The survey, drafted with the guidance of the six-member CASE Community College Foundation Advisory Group, asked community college foundation leaders to answer questions in the following nine areas: (1) Board and governance; (2) Staffing; (3) Alumni relations; (4) Budget/funding; (5) Fundraising/private support; (6) Campaigns; (7) Major gifts; (8) Endowment; and (9) Donor outreach. This white paper on the structure and staffing of community college foundations reports on the results of the CASE survey. Tables are appended. (ERIC). |
