Abstract | Training transfer can be analyzed in the workplace by studying the results of a validated instrument like the Learning Transfer System Inventory (LTSI) developed by Holton and Bates (2011). This correlational study used the Spearman rho correlation coefficient to examine the relationship between transfer design and opportunity to use learning as measured by the LTSI, and the test scores from a group of Ecuadorian adult learners who received training in a hybrid-learning environment. Findings from the study showed that there is no significant relationship between transfer design, opportunity to use learning and the test scores of a group of adult learners. However, the participants of this study considered that the learning objectives and the training material were appropriate to their learning needs and they considered that they had the necessary resources to apply new learning back into the workplace. Researchers investigating training transfer could benefit from understanding what factors promote or hinder training transfer in a Latin American context.
