Abstract	Globalisation can facilitate improvements in health through the speed and ease of shared information, advances in health care delivery and health policy, and the enhanced pace of discovery through international research collaborations. However, there are associated potential risks to health such as the spread of communicable diseases and antibiotic-resistance. Current international priorities in the development, supply and use of medicines reflect the influence of globalisation. This is relevant to all aspects of contemporary pharmacy, and means that graduates are increasingly working in a globalised profession. The challenge for schools of pharmacy, as for other higher education institutions, is how to best prepare our students so that they develop an appreciation of the importance of global perspectives in health and medicines use, acquire the skills and aspirations to address new challenges, and recognise the career opportunities that this presents. This publication reflects upon the experiences of the "Students as Global Citizens" project from a pharmacy perspective. The project was a collaboration between the University College London (UCL) School of Pharmacy, the Institute of Education (University of London), the UCL Institute for Global Health, the Royal Veterinary College and the London International Development Centre, and was funded by the UK Department for International Development. The main aim of the project was to develop and evaluate methods to integrate teaching and learning about global and development issues into undergraduate curricula in pharmacy, medicine and veterinary medicine.
