Abstract | Transitioning into a new school can be a daunting task for students as they deal with the academic and social pressures during the acclimation process to a new school. Students transferring into Ezell-Harding Christian School in Nashville, Tennessee, are no different. This mixed methods study was conducted to determine the struggles and difficulties of transferring into Ezell-Harding Christian School by gathering data from transfer students, as well as to provide recommendations for the school to consider in order to improve the retention rate of transfer students in the middle and high schools. This research looked at both academic and social conditions, which are determining factors in helping increase the retention of transfer students.
