Abstract	The Latino/a population is one of the fastest growing ethnic groups nationwide. It is estimated that the Latino/a population increased by 43% since 2000. Although this may be the case, data shows that Latino males continue to be underrepresented within the educational system at the post-secondary institutional level. Case studies of five Latino male college students were conducted to investigate which factors contribute to their educational success. Through ethnographic interviews, data was collected and grouped into five themes: relationships, persistence, engagement, ethnic identity, and self-efficacy. The findings of the study concluded that 1) Positive relationships at school can have an influence on academic success, 2) the focus of schools needs to be more student-centered to assist in the development of a student's self-efficacy and ethnic identity, and 3) schools should continue to offer, support, and maintain extracurricular programs.
