AbstractThis research examined the results of SmarterMeasure(TM) test as associated with students' success in online courses. SmarterMeasure(TM) (formally known as the READI, or Readiness for Education At a Distance Indicator) data was collected from students who participated in online classes during the Fall 2010 semester at Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC). This study explains how SmarterMeasure(TM) scores for reading recall, technical competency, and individual attributes relate to student success in online classes, as measured by grades in those classes, and offers ideas and suggestions for improving online course delivery at SVCC. Variables studied also included student demographics, and the results of this study will be used to recommend ways for SVCC to improve student success in the online classes.
