Abstract | The purpose of this research was to determine whether academic leaders from a private career college are prepared to lead. The objective was to determine if leaders in a private career college felt they have the skills necessary to fulfill the needs of the students, faculty, employment sector, and public. This research study is a replication of a study Jordan conducted in 2002 on the preparation of academic leaders from colleges accredited by The Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). The current research study focuses on academic leaders from a private career college. The methodology was a mixed method survey. The survey was sent to 180 leaders from a private nonprofit career college. Of the possible 180 respondents, 44 responded to the survey. Of those 44 respondents, the majority of the leaders from this career college are prepared to lead their students, support the community, and provide employers with qualified entry-level employees.
