Abstract	Once your school has established the reason and the will to move forward with Response to Intervention (RTI), you still have to navigate all the difficult steps of implementing core instruction with a multitiered system of supports, data-based problem solving, progress monitoring, and universal screening. That's where this ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) Action Tool comes in handy. The guide gives your leadership team all the tools it needs to plan RTI and determine how it will be implemented regardless of the RTI model being followed. Over 70 tools--including conversation starters, reflection probes, learning activities, and planning and assessment forms--take your RTI implementation through the steps of: (1) Getting started, including forming the RTI Leadership Planning Team and deciding how RTI aligns with the school's vision and school improvement goals; (2) Understanding the major RTI components--an effective core instructional program for all students, a multitiered system of support for struggling students, data-based problem solving, progress monitoring, and universal screening--and assessing the capacity of school staff to implement each; (3) Developing the RTI framework and creating the RTI implementation plan; and (4) Introducing RTI to school staff and conducting and monitoring implementation activities.
