Abstract | Many jurisdictions have implemented new models of transfer, building on the bedrock of course-to-course articulation, in attempts to address mobility issues and ease transfer for students. The British Columbia (BC) postsecondary system has in the past considered proposals for new models of transfer. System-wide consultations have resulted in the conclusion that the BC Transfer System, while working well for the most part, can be improved. Consistent advice from the system can be summarized as: any new model must be suitable for a BC/Canadian context, must weigh cost/benefit considerations, and must balance student needs with institutional resources. This paper discusses the following: (1) Models of Credit Transfer in BC; and (2) Models of Credit Transfer in Other Jurisdictions. (ERIC). |
