Abstract | The following research delves into China's philosophies and education system in antiquity and surrounding context, the development and exchange of ideas between the Middle Kingdom, Europe and the West. This research is intended to be of use to teachers in training including study of China in social studies classes, English and Chinese language classes and general educational settings. It is one view of historic events and not meant to be conclusive nor is this a collection of trivia. The intent is to delve into the foundations of modern day China's system of education.
