Abstract | The aim of the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) evaluation was to examine the effectiveness and impact of the work of the National Remodelling Team (NRT) in completing the third phase of the remodeling program and its effectiveness in applying its model, tools and techniques to the extended schools program. This evaluation has shown that the work of the NRT is considered to be effective and is having a positive impact on local authorities, schools, children and young people and local communities. Key informants were highly satisfied with the training and support offered, although there was an acknowledged need for further refinement and development of the NRT's processes and materials as the remodelling and extended schools initiatives develop and spread. Two appendixes are included: (1) High-level timeline of NRT work in 2005; and (2) Questionnaires. A list of resources for further reading is included. (Contains 36 tables and 13 notes.) (ERIC). |
