Abstract | This study aims to measure the attitudes of the freshman year students at Pre-School Teaching, Primary School, Psychological Consulting and Computing and Computing and Education Technologies Teaching Departments in Near East University, Ataturk Education Faculty towards computers. Usage of computing and IT is an essential factor in human life especially in education and teaching. In addition, it was intended to identify the future teacher candidates' attitudes towards computing while there have been changes in data processing technology and economic reforms together with areas covering social, political and economical changes all around the world. This study also aims to find whether there is a relationship that influences the freshman students' gender, the department they study, family's income, area of settlement and place of birth.
