Abstract	Many teachers look at standardized tests as something to be dreaded. This author and teacher looks at standardized-test scores and sees a tool to bring students learning to new heights. This is a way for teachers to target instruction exactly where it's needed. A way to get students looking forward to end-of-the-year tests (really!) as a way to show off what they've learned. A way to help students succeed because they know the material and they know how to take a test. It's all of that and more. The author walks the reader though her unique, highly effective process one step at a time, with lots of examples and plenty of illustrations for guidance. She provides reproducible charts to analyze the data and focus teaching on group and individual needs, plus instructions for dozens of specific activities. She tells how teachers can build student enthusiasm and reduce anxiety at test taking time. She even provides a list of practical test-taking tips that can be posted in the classroom.
