Abstract	The major purpose of this book is to introduce teachers (and by that the author means all types of teachers-classroom teachers, administrators, teacher aids, parents and coaches) to various individual and group thinking strategies related to specific questions and activities. This guide is a personal interpretation and critique of those strategies which the author uses frequently in teaching or professional development sessions. He has strong personal anecdotal evidence to convince him that more learning takes place when he stops talking and allows and expects learners to be engaged in purposeful thinking and learning...All strategies presented in this book offer teachers the opportunity to have a break from active teaching and offer the students an opportunity to be independent learners. It is therefore an attempt to encourage the transfer of learning energy from behind the teacher's desk to the learners' side of the teacher's desk.
