| Abstract | Partners in Quality is a research and development project sponsored by the Canadian Child Care Federation and its affiliates to explore how child care providers, parents, and other partners can work together to support and improve quality in child care. Based on the view that the quality of the caregiver-child relationship is a key component of quality child care, this booklet, in both English and French, forms the foundation for a series of 10 workshops that support caregivers in developing skills for self-awareness about their daily practice. This booklet introduces the Partners in Quality project and discusses the components of child care quality from the perspectives of children, parents, providers, and the community. The booklet then introduces the three major components of the workshop series: (1) relationships with children and their families; (2) child care infrastructure, including working conditions and professional development; and (3) the place of early childhood care and education in the community.
