Abstract	This professional development packet consists of two sessions, each requiring 6 hours. Session one is designed to teach participants to do the following: identify at least three unique characteristics of workplace English as a Second Language (ESL); describe the steps involved in developing a workplace ESL program; identify the basic steps of planning, implementing, and evaluating workplace ESL programs; and design an ESL workplace education program. It focuses on reasons for workplace ESL; knowledge foundation for developing workplace ESL programs; comparison of ESL and workplace ESL; planning, implementing, and evaluating workplace ESL programs; and points for developing and delivering workplace ESL programs. Session two teaches participants to: select at least three appropriate instructional strategies for a workplace ESL program; develop a lesson plan for a workplace ESL class; and identify at least three methodologies for workplace ESL evaluation. It focuses on designing workplace ESL programs, planning lessons, and developing generic course content and competencies, and it includes a lesson plan activity and evaluation strategies.
