| Abstract | "Access Nature" is an outdoor science curriculum that focuses on habitats. This curriculum targets students ages 6-14 and aims to develop environmental awareness, environmental leadership skills, and outdoor knowledge and skills. Specific adaptations for disabled students are also considered. Contents include: (1) "Introduction to Habitats"; (2) "Sun, Soil, and Water"; (3) "Plant Life: Not Easy Being Green"; (4) "Wildlife"; (5) "Humans Make a Difference"; and (6) "Action Module: Creating Schoolyard Habitats Sites". Each of these areas include many student activities. The appendix contains resources, SOL Chart, Sensory Garden Native Plant Chart, Sighted Guide Technique, 10 Rules for Communicating with People with Disabilities, an evaluation form and a Schoolyard Habitats certification application.
