Abstract | The data about compensation received in Illinois' 48 public community colleges presented in this 2002 report are gathered by the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) and reflect the census date of October 1, 2001. ICCB staff provide the data on the colleges' behalf in response to requests for salary information from the Illinois Board of Higher Education, the National Center for Educational Statistics, the Legislature, and other interested parties. Data are presented according to seven statewide peer groups, which are based on a combination of enrollment, geographic location, and financial data. The report contains 25 tables that summarize salaries and fringe benefits for faculty, staff, and administration. Highlights include: (1) faculty salaries ranged from a low of $16,583 to a high of $106,504; (2) the state average for faculty salaries was $55, 824, and the median was $51,141; (3) part-time faculty rates ranged from a low of $275 per credit hour to a high of $671 per credit hour, with an average of $459; and (4) chief campus administrator salaries ranged from a low of $89,000 to a high of $194,400, with an average of $132, 427. (Contains 25 tables.) (NB) |
