Abstract	This volume presents articles and information to support and improve literacy practices in schools, the community, and the workplace. Selected article titles are as follows: "Reaching Learners Where They Are" (Linda Shohet); "The Learners' Wall: Experiences in the Health Care System"; "In-Sites: A Study in Workforce Literacy: Some Preliminary Findings" (Judy Hunter, Sue Folinsbee); "Adult Literacy and Television: Has a Familiar Tool Been Overlooked?"; "Adult Literacy and Television: Some Thoughts" (David Hargreaves); "Using Television/Video for Adult Learning" (Europe Singh); "Repurposing at the Grassroots: Learning Numbers from 'Hockey Night in Canada'" (Mona Arsenault); "The Politics of Literacy Policy" (Linda Shohet); "The Bagel Effect: Power and Control Moving from the Centre"; "An Empathetic Empiricist, a Sensitive Statistician: An Interview with Sir Claus Moser"; "Assembling the Fragments: A Review of Research on Adult Basic Skills" (Greg Brooks, Kerry Giles, John Harman, Sally Kendall, Felicity Rees, Sara Whittaker); and "Women and Literacy: Issues of Race, Class, and Culture."
