Abstract | Nevada Revised Statute 385.347, the School Accountability Law, requires that Nevada's school districts provide information to the public about the performance of the state's individual public schools and districts. This report reviews accountability information from 372 Nevada schools for the 1994-95 school year. Data are provided on the following subjects: progress toward goals; enrollment; attendance and truancy rates; dropout rates for grades 9-12; incidents involving violence, weapons, or distribution of controlled substances; counselor-student ratios; teacher-student ratios; average class size; teacher qualifications; academic achievement; standardized test results; parent participation; and expenditures per student. Overall, school districts are making steady progress in reporting individual items on school and district accountability reports. Three tables are included; the appendix contains 14 tables. (LMI) |
