Abstract | This manual provides a detailed outline of the innovative school-community collaboration between the New York City Public Schools and the Children's Aid Society of New York City to meet the pressing needs of children and families in the Washington Heights neighborhood. The manual describes the steps taken to develop the program of social services and high educational goals and standards, some of the obstacles encountered, and the philosophy guiding the program development.
