Abstract	This guide is designed to help the user better understand the different types of career assessments and how the user and others may want to use them to make career decisions. Information is presented in question and answer format. These topics are covered: how assessment tests can help; how assessments are used by counselors and employers; how tests can help one get licensed or credentialed for a job; what some different kinds of tests and assessment tools are; how the assessments and other tests will look; where one can go for testing; how to prepare for a test; what one should do when the testing day comes; what good test-taking strategies are; what the test scores mean; what to do if one needs to retest; what about testing for a person with a disability; and how long assessment scores can be used. Additional sources of information are appended, including information on specific tests; testing preparation services; general information; employment/career information; and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
