AbstractLooping is an instructional design whereby students progress to the next grade level with the same teacher(s) for two or more years. This book was designed to help teachers and administrators explore, implement, and evaluate looping programs. The book is divided into four parts. Part 1, "Exploring Looping Configurations," identifies the primary components of looping, the reasons for its implementation, and the kinds of instructional practices commonly associated with it. Part 2, "Implementing Looping Configurations," provides guidelines for steps to consider when planning instruction. Part 3, "Evaluating Looping Configurations," presents tips for establishing an evaluation process for a looping instructional design and clarifies which elements need evaluation and how results should be shared, used, and reported. Part 4, "Support Pages," directs readers to specific resources for obtaining additional information regarding specific topics concerning the looping classroom and includes reproducible forms and sample surveys, letters, questionnaires, and charts.
