| Abstract | This booklet focuses on general safety conditions in the K-12 art classroom. The book is intended for use by art teachers, classroom teachers, and administrators to improve safety practices in the educational context. Local regulations and codes vary so safety professionals, environmental specialists, ventilation experts, and other specialists should be consulted for specific safety plans for the local classroom facilities. Sections of the book include: (1) "Visual Arts Safety"; (2) "Responsibility: Policies, Procedures, and the Law"; (3) "The Safe Use of Equipment and Facilities"; (4) "The Safe Use of Art Materials in the Classroom"; (5) "Safety Data Sheets"; and (6) "Resources."
