Abstract | School board members are often faced with situations in which their positions of power and influence present opportunities for inappropriate gain. Sometimes the goals of the district conflict with personal agendas. The feature article of this publication describes how to recognize the situations that have the potential to jeopardize board members' ethical behavior. It also offers a sample code of ethics for school board members. The code would serve not only to reduce the risk of unethical behavior but to reinforce the bonds of professional cooperation. (LIM) |
