Abstract | Intended to be used as a benchmark to be followed for mass communication faculty putting together tenure applications, this collection of documents constitutes a successful tenure application at Southern Arkansas University for an instructor in broadcast journalism who did not possess a Ph.D. but only a master's degree. In an introductory note, new tenure-track faculty are advised first to investigate tenure requirements in effect at their institutions. The collection contains extensive sections (each with subsections) on: (1) required general information; (2) documentation; (3) documentation of research, creative works, and scholarly activity; and (4) documentation of service.
