AbstractThis report summarizes enrollment trends at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from calendar years 1990 through 1994. Due to the January 1, 1994, merger between Nova University and Southeastern University of the Health Sciences and the incompatibility of their respective information management systems, students in the Health Professions Divisions were excluded from this study. Unduplicated, cumulative headcount increased 12.8 percent over the period, from 17,155 students in 1990 to 19,351 students in 1994. The university awarded 283,217 credits in 1994, an increase of 17.3 percent over the 241,389 credits awarded in 1990. Though the student sex ratio remained steady at 61 percent female and 39 percent male over the period, the number of White students declined from 71 percent in 1990 to 65 percent in 1994, due to sizeable increases in the percentage of African-American and Hispanic students. Although NSU is known for its distance education programs, nearly 50 percent of instruction took place on one of the university's South Florida campuses, and nearly 80 percent of all instruction took place in Florida. Enrollment data for specific NSU schools and programs are included. (MDM)
