Abstract	Partners in Community Leadership is an educational program for rural youth aged 15-18 and adult volunteers that blends youth leadership, community development, and youth-adult partnerships. In addition to sections on program preparation, adult orientation, and facilitator orientation, this handbook contains 10 program modules requiring about 15 hours of involvement. Objectives of the 10 modules are to: (1) understand the basic concepts of the program and feel at ease working together; (2) build a partnership between youth and adults as they prepare to cooperate in the process of community leadership development; (3) understand the local community and how people link with their community; (4) gain a broader perspective of the local community; (5) know local community leaders and the importance of community decision making; (6) provide an opportunity to think about the future of the community; (7) select a project that is achievable within the time available and will address an important community need; (8) learn to develop a plan of action and identify resources to implement the plan; (9) conduct a community project using the knowledge and skills gained from the program; and (10) review what was learned, evaluate and celebrate accomplishments, and discuss future opportunities for the participants. Each module contains an agenda, the session content, and reproducible handouts. Extensive appendices contain various program materials and 27 references. (KS)
