Abstract	The "sciences humaines" provincial assessment was conducted in June 1991 in Franco-Manitoban (Canadian) schools and in the French immersion program. Tests were administered to students in grades 8 and 10. Test results are presented in two preliminary reports, one for Franco-Manitoban schools and the present report for French immersion schools. This report provides data on each item and each cognitive subtest for the Province as a whole. The assessment, which was not intended to measure the achievement of individual students, but rather to identify strengths and weaknesses of the program, contained written tests in general history and the geography of Canada. For the French immersion program there were 1,044 tests in history and 475 in geography. Test results are presented in 41 tables. The text is presented in parallel English and French versions. (SLD)
