Abstract | This guide is designed to help adults who read at a low level to find and keep a job. It is organized into six units that cover the following: (1) how to start a job search; (2) where to find out about jobs; (3) how to apply for jobs; (4) what to say in an employment interview; (5) what to do while waiting for a job offer; and (6) how to fit in at work. The units are subdivided into short information sheets followed by questions for students to answer in order to assess their attitudes, abilities, and values. The guide is set in large type and uses a low-intermediate level vocabulary. Some of the information in the guide refers specifically to Missouri. (KC) |
