Abstract | This catalog provides a worker-based description of duties, tasks, performance objectives and guides, and related data for physical therapy occupations. Duties covered include the following: (1) performing administrative/clerical functions; (2) communicating information; (3) providing patient care services; (4) performing support service; (5) performing patient and care plan assessment; (6) performing physical therapy treatments; (7) providing psychosocial care; and (8) continuing education. Each performance objective contains a task, and each task is further divided into a series of subtasks, or performance objectives, for each of which a standard of performance, conditions for performance, performance guide, and source of standard are provided. The catalog also contains a general introduction, definitions, and the following appendices: (1) a list of tools, equipment, and work aids; (2) 10 references (sources of standards); (3) a cross-reference table of duties, tasks, and performance objectives; (4) a 154-item bibliography (consisting of state-of-the-art literature); and (5) a catalog development model.
