Abstract | This module on promoting leisure is intended to give an understanding of the methods that can be used to market leisure products and services and how to plan the marketing of leisure. The material is presented in a self-instructional format in seven sections. At the beginning of each section is a statement of the objectives that will be achieved as a result of working through the material that follows. Users of the module are asked to relate information given in the text to their own experience and knowledge. Where appropriate, suggested solutions to these questions are given on the opposite or following page. The seven sections cover the following: (1) the leisure customer; (2) the leisure product; (3) customer communications; (4) direct marketing; (5) sales promotion; (6) customer relations; and (7) marketing planning.
