Abstract | This document presents the agreement between Central State University and the Central State University Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) for the period September 1, 1988-August 31, 1991. The contract details the following 48 articles: agreement; agreement construction; recognition of the bargaining unit; AAUP principles; academic freedom; non-discrimination and affirmative action; maintenance of practices; institutional responsibilities; academic safeguards and responsibilities; governance of the university; faculty representatives' attendance at board of trustees meetings; the academic department; faculty personnel policies; faculty personnel procedures; termination for cause; termination because of discontinuation of a degree program; workload; evaluations; personnel files; faculty improvement, professional and personal leaves of absence; court, military and political leave; sick leave; special or emergency leaves; special duty assignments; professional travel; parking; patents and copyrights; provisions for emeriti; appointment year and salary checks; initial salaries; across-the board salary adjustments; minimum salaries; salary adjustments for years of service; compensation study committee; overloads, extra compensation; summer school compensation; additional compensation; medical insurance; dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; retirement programs; fees; rights and duties of the AAUP as agent; grievance and arbitration; agreement management; savings and separability; and duration and amendment.
