AbstractThe instructional package of student and instructor manuals is intended to provide Arkansas college students who are preparing for rehabilitation careers with basic information on assistive technology. The student material is divided into three goal areas. The section on Goal 1, the development of technology advocacy concepts, covers basic definitions of assistive technology and services terminology, the role of consumers, advocacy, specific advocacy groups in Arkansas, steps in the advocacy process, and how a consumer should respond when told assistive technology cannot be provided him. The second section on Goal 2, the development of service delivery concepts, discusses providers of technology services in Arkansas, the evaluation process, and factors in selecting appropriate technology. Goal 3 is the development of technology funding concepts. Discussion centers on funding sources, funding terminology, and guidelines for assembling supportive documents. Each section includes a set of student evaluation questions for which answers are provided in the instructor manual. (DB)
